A Message of Gratitude and Well-Being for All

Dear Students, Staff and Families, 

As we gather with our friends and family to celebrate and give thanks this holiday, I want to reflect on what I’m thankful for and express my gratitude and appreciation for each and every one of you. 

Thank you, students, for your hard work, dedication and passion for learning. You drive our administrators, teachers and support professionals to give their best daily. We are grateful for the chance to support you in your educational journey.

Thank you to our staff for your tireless efforts and commitment to providing excellent teaching and learning. Your dedication to our students is inspiring, and we are fortunate to have you on the MCPS team. 

Thank you to our families for your trust, support and partnership. Education is a team effort, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work together to help our students succeed. 

On a personal note, I want to extend my gratitude for the many well wishes I’ve received during my recent serious health condition. Your support has been a source of strength throughout a challenging experience that has cast a new light for me on the importance and value of embracing wellness and caring for ourselves, just as we embrace caring for so many others. 

We are excited about seizing the opportunities and taking on the challenges ahead. Let us continue to work together to build a school system that educates and nurtures the potential of each and every one of us. In this shared pursuit of improvement, all together now–let our commitment to safety, equity and excellence guide us to a brighter future.
