Students Win Big in Annual C-SPAN Documentary Competition

Evelyn Shue and Ida Chen, sophomores at Richard Montgomery and Winston Churchill high schools, won first place in StudentCam, C-SPAN’s annual national video documentary competition that encourages students to think critically about issues that affect our communities and our nation. Their video, “High Stakes,” is a documentary about education and standardized testing.

Second place winners were Aileen Qi and Kevin Rha, sophomores at Montgomery Blair High School. Their video is "Let Science Speak.” During a weeklong period of public voting where more than 71,000 votes were cast, "Let Science Speak" received more than 11,000, winning the "Fan Favorite" prize.
