Montgomery Blair High School is kicking off the official start of its 100-year with an event open to the community. The celebration is an opportunity to honor the school's legacy of academic excellence and community impact, and to connect generations of students and staff.
The school's history dates back to September 1925 when the Takoma Silver Spring School opened as the first "down county" high school. It was later renamed Montgomery Blair High School in 1935.
WHAT: A community-wide event to officially launch a year-long celebration of Montgomery Blair High School's 100-year history. The event will feature remarks from key community leaders, alumni and school staff.

- Lorig Charkoudian, Maryland State Delegate
- Mark Levin, Alumni Association President
- Damon Monteleone, Blair High School Principal
- Talisha Searcy, Mayor, City of Takoma Park
- Kate Stewart, President, Montgomery County Council
- Julie Yang, President, Montgomery County Board of Education
WHEN: Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. (immediately followed by the Homecoming football game).
