The annual Champions for Children Awards Gala on Wednesday, May 5, at 7:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda will honor outstanding supporters of education in Montgomery County, including businesses, organizations, and individuals. Honorees will include the Montgomery County Public Schools Supporting Services Employee of the Year and the winner of the Edward Shirley Award for Excellence in Educational Administration and Supervision, an award being presented for the first time this year.

The four finalists for the county Teacher of the Year will be honored at the gala, and their work will be featured in short video biographies. The highlight of the evening will be the announcement of the teacher who has been selected to represent Montgomery County in the state Teacher of the Year program.

The gala is sponsored by the Montgomery County Business Roundtable for Education (MCBRE), the Montgomery County Board of Education, and the Montgomery County Council of PTAs.
