The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) has been recognized by the Association of School Business Officers (ASBO) with the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting. This is the 24th year that MCPS has received this award.

The nationally recognized ASBO program reviews and critiques district accounting practices, as represented in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, and recognizes school districts that adhere to sound principles and reporting procedures. The award is the highest recognition for school district financial operations offered by ASBO and is conferred only to school systems that have met or exceeded the standards of the program.
