Swearing-In Ceremony for Newly Elected Members of the Board of Education Set for December 1

Retiring Members of the Board Also Will Be Honored

Newly elected members of the Board of Education, Shirley Brandman (At-large) and Judy Docca (District 1), and two returning members of the Board, Nancy Navarro (District 5) and Patricia O’Neill (District 3), will be sworn in during a ceremony at the Carver Educational Services Center on Friday, December 1, at 4:00 p.m.

Mrs. Navarro is beginning her first full term as an elected Board of Education member. She was appointed by the Board in October 2004 to fill the term of the vacant District 5 seat. Mrs. O’Neill is beginning her third term.

A program and reception following the swearing-in ceremony also will honor retiring Board members Valerie Ervin, Charles Haughey, and Gabriel Romero.

Election of officers for the new Board will take place during the Board of Education business meeting on December 12, 2006.
