Online Survey to Capture Community Input on Superintendent Search

January 13, 2011
The Montgomery County Board of Education today announced a new, online survey for community members to provide input on the qualities they would like to see in a new superintendent.

The Board is conducting a national search for a new school system leader and is working with the executive search firm of Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA) to identify the best possible candidates for the position. Earlier this week, the Board announced that it will host six public forums to gather community input on the attributes and characteristics desired in the next superintendent for MCPS.

Please visit the MCPS website to access and complete the superintendent profile survey by February 4, 2011.

This survey will help the search firm consultants develop a thorough understanding of the Montgomery County Public Schools in order to recruit the strongest and most qualified superintendent candidates for the Board to consider.

The Board has established a timeline for the search that will conclude in May 2011 with the announcement of a new superintendent. The new leader will begin on July 1, 2011.
