The annual English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Awards Day will be held on Saturday, May 18, from 9:30 a.m. until noon at the John F. Kennedy High School auditorium in Silver Spring.

This special event will celebrate and recognize students in the ESOL-Bilingual programs who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in academic performance and other endeavors.

Three exemplary ESOL teachers and an exemplary principal, who were nominated by principals, colleagues, or parents, and selected by the ESOL/Bilingual Advisory Committee, will be recognized at the ceremony.

A highlight of the event is the ethnic attire worn by many of the parents and children attending that celebrate the cultural diversity of the ESOL/Bilingual programs.
