Rochelle Kraus, staffing analyst in the Department of Personnel Services of the Montgomery County Public Schools, has received a 1999 Personnelist of the Year Award from the Local Government Personnel Association (LGPA), which represents 49 local government jurisdictions in the greater Baltimore and Washington metropolitan areas.

Kraus, the only awardee in the Recruitment/Staffing/Employment category, was selected for her exemplary performance. She was among several individuals to be named among the "Best and the Brightest" of the personnel professionals in LGPA.

As a member of the supporting services team in the Division of Staffing, Kraus hired more than 400 new employees in the first five months of the 1998-99 school year and coordinated the identification and placement of 150 temporary employees in permanent positions to comply with new contractual requirements of the MCCSSE agreement.

She was honored at an awards luncheon at the Officers Club at Fort Meade, Maryland, in May.
