The Board of Education today [Tuesday, December 10] approved the appointment of Dr. Karen C. Woodson as the new director of the division of ESOL/Bilingual Programs for the Montgomery County Public Schools.
Dr. Woodson, who is currently the supervisor of the ESOL/Language Minority Programs for the Prince George's County Public Schools, Maryland, is fluent in Spanish and earned a doctorate in applied linguistics from Georgetown University.
The Board also approved the appointment of Elaine J. Tanenhaus, currently assistant principal at Rosa Parks Middle School, as a staffing specialist, Office of Human Resources.
