The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) FY 2005 Special Education Staffing Plan Committee will hold three work sessions in August and September. All sessions are open to the public.

The purpose of the work sessions is to review the FY 2004 Special Education Staffing Plan; receive information regarding the FY 2005 MCPS budget, enrollment projections, and anticipated special education program needs; receive public input; and make recommendations for priority improvements to be considered for the FY 2005 budget.

The Committee will meet in the Board Room, Carver Educational Services Center, 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville, Maryland on:

· Tuesday, August 26, 2003, from 7:00–9:00 p.m.
· Thursday, September 4, 2003, from 7:00–9:00 p.m. – Public Comments
· Thursday, September 11, 2003, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.

The Committee will receive public comments regarding the FY 2005 Special Education Staffing Plan at the September 4 meeting only.

Individuals who wish to provide input to the Committee should contact Tanya Chun by calling 301-279-3135 to sign up for a two-minute time slot at the September meeting.Individuals who provide oral comments should bring a written summary to submit at the meeting.

Anyone unable to attend the September meeting who would like to provide written comments regarding the staffing plan to the Committee can submit them by September 4, 2003, to:
