MCPS to Host “Say Yes to the Test Day” on Oct. 9

October 6, 2021

What: Say Yes to the Test Day and Information Fair

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021

Where: Paint Branch High School, 14121 Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville

Montgomery County Public Schools in partnership with Kingdom Fellowship AME Church and Holy Cross Hospital are hosting a “Say Yes to the Test” day, information fair and free COVID-19 vaccination clinic. The event will include giveaways, food and fun, a DJ and activities for children from Kids After Hours.

Other school system and county departments, including the MCPS Department of Transportation, Montgomery County Libraries, the Montgomery County Police Department, Montgomery Coalition for Adult English Literacy (MCAEL), the Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center, the Montgomery County Board of Elections, the Conflict Resolution Center and Montgomery College will be on hand to provide resources to families.

The Say Yes to the Test campaign encourages families to consent for their children to receive free COVID-19 testing at their school. Testing helps keep schools open and students and staff safe. There are two types of COVID-19 tests—screening and rapid tests. Parents/guardians only need to fill out one form to give their permission for both tests. The consent form is available in multiple languages and can be filled out online or schools can provide paper copies for families.

Appointments are not necessary to get a COVID vaccine, but you can register for one here.
