Chevy Chase Amazon Fresh Store Stocks Westland Middle School Pantry for Students and Families in Need Ahead of the Holiday Season

November 8, 2021

WHAT:  In preparation for the upcoming holiday season, the Amazon Fresh store in Chevy Chase will be stocking the Westland Middle School Westland Cares Pantry, an onsite food pantry that provides additional support to local students and families in need. In addition to donating hundreds of items requested by the Westland Cares team, including healthy food, beverages, and everyday household items, the Chevy Chase Amazon Fresh store will also provide a $5,000 Amazon gift card for supplemental and future needs.

The Westland Cares Pantry helps to support Westland Middle School students and their families by providing weekly access to free food and household items. This initiative is part of the larger Westland Cares Parent Teacher Association (PTA) program, which in addition to providing free food and household items, works to provide local students and families in need with timely holiday gifts and gift cards, scholarships to after-school FLEX programs, summer reading materials, and more.
