Susan Loftus of Albert Einstein High School and Cindy Lins of Spark Matsunaga Elementary School were honored, respectively, as the 2003-2004 Maryland State High School and Elementary School Physical Education Teachers of the Year for their outstanding contributions over time to the field of physical education. They received the honor at the annual Maryland Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance State Convention held in Ocean City October 31.

In addition, June Miller, Waters Landing Elementary School, and Vicki Rill, John F. Kennedy High School, were honored as recipients of the Simon McNeely Award, which recognizes active involvement in school and community affairs, along with outstanding teaching and service in the field of physical education.
