The special education staffing plan for the 2004-2005 school year is available for public review and comment as part of the process for considering the superintendent's recommended operating budget for Fiscal Year 2005.

The Board of Education will be holding public hearings on the operating budget recommendations, and testimony can be given specifically about the special education staffing plan. The hearings are scheduled on January 14, January 15, and January 21, 2004, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Carver Educational Services Center, 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville.

Individuals who wish to testify at the hearings may register in advance by calling 301-279-3617, beginning Tuesday, December 23, 2003.

Comments also can be submitted in writing to Mr. Brian J. Bartels, director of special education, 850 Hungerford Drive, Room 208, Rockville, Maryland 20850. Comments also can be sent by e-mail to brian_j_bartels@mcpsmd.org
