Educ. Technology Showcased at MCPS Site Visits

March 11, 2004
Educators from across the United States will have an opportunity to view the Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) and other technology efforts of Montgomery County Public Schools at a district site visit organized by the National School Boards Association (NSBA). The NSBA selected four school systems nationwide this year as site visit districts in order to showcase innovative uses of technology that can be replicated by other school systems.

The district site visit will take place on Monday and Tuesday, March 15 and 16, at the University of Maryland, Shady Grove Campus, in Rockville. The program begins at 9:00 a.m. on Monday with the keynote address and workshops. Tuesday afternoon activities include site visits to schools. The MCPS web site has more details on the program and scheduled school visits.

The series of workshops and site visits at schools will feature a range of topics including the IQMS, technology support and security, staff development, technology modernization, and collaboration development.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Freeman A. Hrabowski, III, president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus.
