Media Advisory: Feb. 25 Community Forum on Fentanyl & Life Saving Narcan Training
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and Montgomery Goes Purple will be hosting its second community forum on fentanyl. Panelists will share important information on the dangers and prevalence of fentanyl, prevention tools and protective factors for students, and resources for treatment when needed.
Following the panel, there will be breakout sessions in English and Spanish for parents/caregivers. Training and distribution of Narcan kits, a medication used to help reverse an overdose, will be provided.
The Community Opioid Prevention & Education (C.O.P.E.) trailer (a mock teen bedroom) will be available for tours to learn signs of substance use.
Please note: The breakout sessions portion of the program will not be open to the media, however, we will have speakers available after the panel for interview.
