MEDIA ADVISORY: Board of Education, Employee Association Leaders to Discuss Approved Contract Agreements and FY 2024 Operating Budget Proposal Ahead of Full County Council Deliberations
The Board of Education, Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Monifa B. McKnight and leaders from the district’s three employee associations will hold media availability this afternoon at 5 p.m. to discuss the FY 2024 Operating Budget as it goes to the full County Council for deliberation tomorrow, Friday, May 12, and its implications on the approved agreements reached on wage increases.
The FY 2024 Operating Budget proposal for MCPS provides the necessary salary increases for teachers, administrators and support staff to remain competitive in the region. The proposed budget is also designed to address disparities in literacy in math, close opportunity gaps, and provide the necessary supports as we come out of a once-in-a generation pandemic.
