The joint proclamation and celebration ceremony for the Month of the Young Child will take place at the Aspen Hill Library on Wednesday, April 21, from 4:30 until 6:00 p.m. This year's theme is "ABC's of Literacy: It's About You, Me, and the Community."

The official proclamation ceremony will be followed by a sample "Learning Party" offered to families of children participating in the Early Reading First grant. The public and news media are invited to observe this innovative way to promote early literacy.
