Information on MCPS Provided in New Parent Guide

“Navigating the System: A Parent's Guide to the Montgomery County Public Schools” is a new publication that describes a range of programs, services, and procedures in a concise and easily accessible format that will provide parents with the information and resources they need to support their children's education.

Among the many topics covered in the publication are enrollment, graduation requirements, opportunities for parent involvement, instruction, specialized programs, school safety and security, and services for students and parents.

“Navigating the System” has been translated into Spanish, Korean, Chinese, French, and Vietnamese. Translations will be available for distribution in the near future.

The English version of “Navigating the System” has been mailed to all families of Montgomery County Public Schools students. Additional copies are available at individual schools or from the Department of Communications by calling 301-279-3391. In addition, the document can be downloaded from the school system web site. Translations also will be posted on the web site.
