Cindy Lins, physical education teacher at Spark Matsunaga Elementary School, recently was named one of six national finalists for the National Association for Sport and Physical Education Elementary School Teacher of the Year, to be announced in April. She is the nominee from the Eastern District Association of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.

Lins also is the 2003-04 Maryland State Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year and a national board-certified teacher.
