Save the Dates

Parents and other community members are invited to participate in a series of community forums sponsored by the Montgomery County Public Schools. Participants will have an opportunity to share their thoughts about the school system's strategic plan, including areas that are working well and those areas needing improvement.

This year's forums follow a successful series of forums on the strategic plan that was instituted for the first time last fall. As a result of the input received from the community, the Fiscal Year 2006 Operating Budget included substantial expenditures to lower class size, provide greater support for special education students in the least restrictive environment, add translation services to serve ESOL families, and provide more building services employees to maintain school safety and cleanliness.

The forums this year are scheduled as follows:

· September 8, 2005, 7-9:30 p.m. Rockville High School
· September 22, 2005, 7-9:30 p.m. Albert Einstein High School
· October 6, 2005, 7-9:30 p.m. Northwest High School

Foreign language interpreters and child care will be available.
