Meeting Set for Private School Students on MSMC

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) will hold an information meeting on the Middle School Magnet Consortium (MSMC) Choice Process for student assignment for families of Grade 5 students who are currently enrolled in private schools and reside in Montgomery County. The meeting will take place at the Spring Mill Field Office, 11721 Kemp Mill Road in Silver Spring, on Wednesday, December 7, at 7:00 p.m.

The presentation will include an overview of each of the MSMC programs and the Choice Process. The schools include Argyle Magnet School for Information Technology, A. Mario Loiederman Magnet School for Creative and Performing Arts, and Parkland Magnet School for Aerospace Technology.

Following the presentations, private school students will have an opportunity to enroll in the Choice Process for the 2006-2007 school year. Appointments are required to participate in the enrollment process following the information meeting. To make an appointment for enrollment on December 7, parents must call the Consortium Office at 301-649-8081.

Please note: Grade 6 students who are currently enrolled in private school and reside in Montgomery County may participate in the Choice Process. School assignments to a MSMC school for the 2006-2007 school year are on a limited, space-available basis.
