Festival and Awards Ceremony Scheduled for April 28 at the AFI Silver Theatre


Student and staff entries from public and private schools in Montgomery County are being accepted for the annual Montgomery County Schools Media Festival. Awards will be presented in photography, graphic design, video, animation, multimedia, sequential stills, and Web site creation.

Deadline for entries is March 24, 2006. For the first time, entrants can register online at the Festival Web site, www.mcsmf.org, before sending the entries for judging. Entry rules and previous years’ winners can be found on the Web site as well.

More than 900 participants from more than 60 schools were part of the 2005 festival, and two entries went on to win at the International Student Media Festival, produced by the Association for Educational Communications Technology.

The annual Montgomery County Schools Media Festival showcase will take place on April 28, 2006, at the AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring. Entries will be judged by artists and other media experts, and awards will be presented during the Festival.
