MCPS Festival Showcases Student Media Creations

The 2007 Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Media Festival showcase will be held this month at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Institute in Silver Spring. The elementary school showcase is on April 19th starting at 10:00 a.m.  The middle and high school showcase is on April 20th, also starting at 10:00 a.m. The master of ceremonies for the elementary festival will be Chick Hernandez from Comcast Sportsnet.  Hosts for the middle and high school festival will be Alison Starling and Doug McKelway from ABC 7 News.

The public is welcome to attend the exhibits of student work.

The purpose of the festival is to help students become effective users of ideas and information through the creation of high quality media productions in a variety of formats. There are six competition categories in this year's festival, including sequential skills, live action, animation, news program, digital art and design, and still photography.
