Student Member of the Board To Be Sworn In
July 2, 2007
Walter Johnson High School rising senior Ben Moskowitz will be sworn in as the 30th student member of the Board of Education at 7:30 p.m. this evening, July 2, at the Carver Educational Services Center.
Moskowitz was chosen to serve on the Board by 56.75 percent of the secondary students who cast ballots in the April 25, 2007, election, conducted by the Montgomery County Region of the Maryland Association of Student Councils. The overall voter turnout was 83.56 percent (63,732 students).
All high schools and middle schools submitted election results, along with several special schools and alternative programs.
Moskowitz has been involved in student government for many years, most recently as the treasurer of the Montgomery County Region of the Maryland Association of Student Councils. He serves as a member of the Montgomery County Commission on Children and Youth, among other activities.
Moskowitz attended Tilden Middle School and Garrett Park Elementary School.
