Attorney General Doug Gansler To Speak to Chevy Chase Elementary School Students About Internet Safety

Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler will speak to third grade students at Chevy Chase Elementary School about his new Internet safety initiative, C.L.I.C.K.S.—Community Leadership In Cyber Knowledge and Safety—at a press conference on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at 12:00 p.m., in the school’s media center. The C.L.I.C.K.S. initiative is an educational outreach program designed to equip Maryland’s community leaders—parents, teachers, and law enforcement—with the resources to teach students and their parents about Internet safety.

Members of the Board of Education, Superintendent Jerry D. Weast, State’s Attorney John McCarthy, and other guests will join the Attorney General in an interactive, web-based presentation to third grade students using NetSmartz, an educational safety resource developed by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The presentation will demonstrate to children the importance of protecting themselves on the Internet.
