Way2Go Event Invites Middle School Students to Get on Track for College

April 12, 2010
Middle school students and parents are invited to attend a free Way2GoMaryland event on May 8, held by The University System of Maryland (USM) to encourage more students to begin preparing for college early.

The Way2GoMaryland event is open to Montgomery County students in Grades 6-8 and their parents/guardians. It will be held from 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on Sat., May 8, at the Universities at Shady Grove, 9630 Gudelsky Drive, Rockville. Check-in will begin at 9 a.m.

The event will include a discussion by a panel of USM students and an admissions counselor who will answer participants’ questions about preparing for college. A mini-college fair will follow: representatives from the admissions and financial aid offices of USM’s universities, the Maryland Higher Education Commission financial aid office, and the College Savings Plans of Maryland will be available to talk with students and their families.
