TODAY - MCPS Unveils Baldrige Award Crystal on Dr. Weast's Final Day as MCPS Superintendent

On Superintendent Jerry D. Weast’s last day as superintendent of Montgomery County Public Schools, Dr. Weast and Board of Education President Christopher Barclay will preside at a celebration and unveiling of the Malcolm Baldrige Award Crystal.

The event will take place on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., in the auditorium of the Carver Educational Services Center in Rockville.

In November 2010, U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke named the Montgomery County Public Schools as a recipient of the 2010 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the highest presidential honor given to American organizations for performance excellence. MCPS becomes only the sixth public school system to receive the award.
