REMINDER: Superintendent Starr to Hold Book Club Event Tomorrow, Jan. 8

Superintendent of Schools Joshua P. Starr will host his first Book Club discussion of the school year tomorrow, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m., in the auditorium of the Carver Educational Services Center, 850 Hungerford Drive in Rockville.

The book Dr. Starr has selected for discussion is Paul Tough’s How Children Succeed: Grit, Curiosity, and the Hidden Power of Character. Parents, staff, students and community members who wish to be a part of the studio audience for this free event are asked to RSVP to pio@mcpsmd.org.

Dr. Starr, along with guest panelists, will lead a discussion on the book and answer questions from those in the audience and those viewing the event at home. The Book Club will be webcast live at www.mcpsbookclub.org and broadcast on MCPS TV (Comcast channel 34). Viewers can submit questions by email (ask@mcpsbookclub.org) and Twitter (#mcpsbookclub).
