Newly Redesigned Website Offers Easier Access to Data and Information

August 27, 2001
The school system's website has been redesigned to make it more customer-friendly and useful in obtaining information about the Montgomery County Public Schools.

The redesigned site reflects an ongoing effort to use the Internet as a key communication vehicle for parents, students, employees, and the general community. The new site will continue to evolve and incorporate new elements over time, especially as individual schools and departments follow with their own design changes.

The effort, under the leadership of the Office of Global Access, is a group project representing the efforts of more than 1,000 staff, parents and student webmasters. During the 2001-2002 school year, the Web Services Unit of Global Access will be working with school and department webmasters to integrate the new design elements and features.

The school system's entire website encompasses more than 30,000 pages from over 250 schools, departments and curriculum areas. More than 80,000 users visit the website daily.
