Maryland Youth Forum to Explore Student Views

October 31, 2001
Students representatives from across Maryland will have an opportunity to express their views at the Maryland Youth Forum on November 5 led by Maryland Attorney General J. Joseph Curran.

Mr. Curran will meet with young people selected from every region of the state at the Executive Office Building in Rockville to hear their thoughts on the problems they consider most important and what is being done to address these problems. The forum discussion will cover a wide range of issues such as juvenile crime, substance abuse, the effect of media and the internet on youth, school violence, hate crimes, mental heath concerns, and equal access to opportunity.

Mr. Curran will be using the themes and ideas coming out of this meeting to formulate and underscore the need for new policy initiatives.
