Seneca Valley Seniors Focus on Ethical Questions

November 13, 2001
Students at Seneca Valley High School will have an opportunity to practice decision-making skills relating to ethical questions at a special Seneca Valley Ethics Day on Friday, November 16, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. The event will take place at Johns Hopkins University, Montgomery County Campus.

Ethics Day, a pilot program for Montgomery County, is sponsored by Booz Allen Hamilton, Comcast, Johns Hopkins University, the Montgomery County Business Roundtable for Education (MCBRE), and the Montgomery Education Connection (MEC).

Students will participate in guided activities, facilitated by community volunteers. The day will be divided into three, forty-five minute sessions:

- Internet Ethics will stimulate thinking on internet-based scenarios.
- Mock Trial will give students experience with a situation caused by failing to consider the consequences of unethical behavior.
- Sports Ethics will offer students a scenario with discussion and consequences that face student athletes.
