MEDIA ADVISORY: Hallie Wells Middle School to Hold Dedication Ceremony May 13

County representatives, MCPS staff, parents and community members will gather on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at a dedication ceremony for the new Hallie Wells Middle School in Clarksburg. 

Hallie Wells Middle School opened in August 2016 and boasts more than 150,000 square feet of learning space.   The school is named after a Clarksburg resident who deeded 290 acres of farmland to the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission. Today, this land includes a park, named after her late husband Ovid Hazen Wells, and a farm established to help adults with developmental disabilities. While Hallie Wells Middle School is not located on the original land, this site is only a few blocks away.
