MCPS Drive for Supplies Program will Provide Free School Supplies to Families

July 14, 2017

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) will hold its annual Drive for Supplies event on Monday, July 17, 2017, at Richard Montgomery High School.

Each summer, MCPS distributes new and gently used school supplies to Montgomery County families in need. The supplies come from MCPS students and staff who collect and donate supplies as they clean out lockers, desks and closets at the end of the school year. Last year, MCPS distributed more than 6,600 pounds of school supplies.

Immediately following the event, MCPS schools, families and nonprofit agencies may pick up free supplies for students who need them.

Drive for Supplies, now in its 18th year, has generated more than 90 tons of school supplies. The program is a collaboration between Learn Shop, Inc., and MCPS.
