Video Message from First Lady Congratulates Business Roundtable

The Montgomery County Business Roundtable for Education (MCBRE), led by Steven G. Marriott, chairman of the MCBRE Board of Directors, and Robert E. Anastasi, executive director of MCBRE, will mark the completion of its first year in operation at a celebration and annual meeting on Monday, March 18. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Pooks Hill Marriott in Bethesda..

The event will feature a video address from First Lady Laura Bush and testimonials from government officials, business leaders, and educators, including Superintendent Jerry D. Weast, County Executive Douglas M. Duncan, Congresswoman Constance A. Morella, and Congressman Albert R. Wynn.

Also featured will be a slide presentation focusing on MCBRE’s collaborations to benefit education in Montgomery County. Among the successful projects are Achievement Counts, a program that brings young executives into schools to talk with students about preparing for the workplace, and an AmeriCorps volunteer program supporting students and families in local schools.
