Multicultural Youth Summit at Richard Montgomery High School

April 11, 2002
A free multicultural youth summit for all Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students in grades 9-12 will be held on Saturday, April 13, at Richard Montgomery High School. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m.

“Bridging the Gap” is the theme of the Unity 2002 Multicultural Youth Summit, sponsored by the Montgomery County Branch of the NAACP, Montgomery College, and the school system.

The summit’s purpose is to bring together high school students to discover their common interests and better appreciate their differences. The summit committee, made up of MCPS students, has designed a challenging day that will include workshops, entertainment, prizes, food and the summit “Speak Out” session with county leaders such as the county executive, chief of police, and county Council president.
