The Board of Education has continued to improve its efforts to communicate more effectively with the public by using the Internet to offer copies of written materials for review and information in advance of its regular meetings.

Most agenda items include written reports and recommendations, including proposed resolutions, that were available previously only by visiting the school system’s headquarters or requesting the materials by mail. Now, the major items are provided as clearly presented PDF files directly from the Board’s website on Monday mornings. The site also provides drafts of future meeting agendas, the master calendar, and approved minutes of previous meetings. The link to the site is below.

The effort to enhance the availability of the meeting materials was initiated by Board of Education President Reginald Felton in response to requests from the community for greater public access and information. The online system was completed for today's meeting [Monday, August 26], the first meeting of the new school year for the Montgomery County Public Schools.
