High School Wins Award for Tobacco Use Prevention

October 1, 2002
Sherwood High School has been chosen to receive the American Lung Association of Maryland's 2002 Distinguished Service Award in the field of tobacco use prevention. Sherwood received the award because of the dedication of the school community in making the school a tobacco-free environment, using a program called N-O-T.

The award is presented annually to an individual or group whose leadership and dedication have made an impact on preventing lung disease and promoting lung health.

The award will be presented at a reception on Wednesday, October 2, at 6:00 p.m., at the Sheraton International Hotel at BWI Airport.
