Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and Family Services, Inc., will announce the opening of an academic program to support students who are in substance use recovery and are committed to maintaining sobriety at a news conference on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.

WHAT: News conference to announce the opening of a recovery and academic program for MCPS students

WHEN: Tuesday, May 15, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

WHERE: The Landing, Family Services, Inc., 630 East Diamond Avenue in Gaithersburg

WHO: Among those scheduled to speak at the event:

-Lt. Governor Boyd K. Rutherford
-Karen Salmon, Maryland State Superintendent of Schools
-Rebecca Smondrowski, member, Montgomery County Board of Education
-Jack Smith, Superintendent, Montgomery County Public Schools

The recovery program has been made possible through a grant from Governor Larry Hogan’s Opioid Operational Command Center.
