Bone Marrow Drive Scheduled at Wood Middle School

Bone marrow donors are being sought for Dani Shotel, a 26-year-old preschool special education teacher who taught at Clarksburg Elementary School for two years. A 1994 graduate of Thomas.S. Wootton High School who set numerous softball pitching records for Wootton, she is the daughter of Earle B. Wood Middle School assistant principal Sue Shotel.

Dani Shotel was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia on Sept. 11, 2002, and requires a bone marrow or stem cell transplant. A bone marrow drive will be held Monday, November 11, from 3:30 until 8:00 p.m. at Earle B. Wood Middle School. The school is located at 14615 Bauer Drive in Rockville. Donors should be between the ages of 18-60 and in good health. A few drops of blood and 20 minutes of time are all that is required.
