Students Donate Van to Paralyzed Teacher

March 10, 2003
Students from Damascus High School and Thomas A. Edison High School of Technology will hold a ceremony at Damascus High School on Thursday, March 13, at 9:30 a.m. to donate a refurbished van to Mr. Bob Dickie, a history teacher at Damascus High School who was partially paralyzed during a rock-climbing expedition last September.

The wheelchair-accessible van was revamped by students in the auto technology program at Thomas Edison High School of Technology. Assistance was provided by the Automotive Trades Foundation. Damascus students handled details, preparation work, and final inspection.

Damascus students also held a fundraiser earlier in the year that raised more than $6,000 to assist Mr. Dickie.

Thursday, March 13
9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
