Homework Hotline Live! Begins 18th Year on MCPS TV

October 2, 2003
"Homework Hotline Live!" is back for another successful year on Cable Channel 33.

The show, produced by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Instructional TV, offers Montgomery County students an opportunity to call on-air teachers for help with their homework.

"It's like a free tutor," says producer Evan Miller. "The program has a long and successful history at MCPS." The popular call-in show is in its 18th year.

The new season of "Homework Hotline Live!" begins on Tuesday, October 7. The program airs during the school year live on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30-6:00 p.m., with replays starting at 8:00 p.m. Each of those nights, six teachers are available to help answer homework questions. In addition, there are nine student volunteers on the TV crew for each program.

MCPS students and those in private schools in Montgomery County who might not be able to access a tutor find "Homework Hotline Live!" a valuable source of help. "The staff resources are excellent," says Miller. "From the students to the teachers to the MCPS staff¯they all make it happen!"
