MCPS to Host Back-to-School Fair at Westfield Wheaton Tomorrow (August 24)
Don’t miss the fun at this year’s Montgomery County Public Schools’ Back-to-School Fair at Westfield Wheaton!
Come kick off the 2019–2020 school year from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. TOMORROW, Saturday, Aug. 24. Learn about the system’s programs and services, along with resources from government agencies and community partners. School system staff will be on hand to answer questions about MCPS curriculum and programs. There will be music, entertainment, children’s activities, health screenings, giveaways and more.
The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services will provide free Tdap and MCV4 immunizations for students in Grades 7-12. Families must bring vaccination records to receive immunizations. Kaiser Permanente will provide free health screenings for adults, and MyEyeDr. will provide free eye exams. Kiddz Bounce will be free for children to play during fair hours. MCPS staff from School Library Media Programs will provide children’s storytime in the play area across from Kiddz Bounce.
iHeartMedia will entertain fair visitors with its teams from Hot. 99.5, 97.1 Wash FM and DC 101, and will provide giveaways, including concert tickets.
Free round-trip shuttle buses will run from 9:30 a.m.–1 p.m., between the fair and the following sites:
The last shuttles will leave the mall and return to shuttle stop locations at 3 p.m. Elementary aged children must be accompanied by a parent, other adult or older sibling to ride the shuttles.
Westfield Wheaton is located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road at the intersection of Veirs Mill and University Boulevard in Wheaton. The fair will be on the lower level, near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance.
