To the MCPS Community:

The Montgomery County Board of Education is deeply saddened by the events at Magruder High School. An act of gun violence in one of our schools has shaken our community. We are providing the supports our students and staff need to repair the harm to the school community. Our thoughts are with our students, particularly the injured student, his family, friends and community. We will work together to support the Magruder High School community and ensure that our schools are safe, secure places of learning. The Board will continue to partner with our local, state and federal leaders to seek ways to keep weapons out of the hands of children.
