A Career Futures Institute on Friday, June 22, at the Montgomery County Campus of Johns Hopkins University will focus on the need for a strong community commitment to fostering career development for all students.

The day-long conference, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., is designed to increase awareness of how career goal setting enhances educational achievement and will provide strategies and resources for both educators and community members.

Keynote speakers include Superintendent Jerry D. Weast and Fredricka Whitfield, an NBC News correspondent whose career aspirations were nurtured through an internship program at Paint Branch High School.

The Institute was made possible through a partnership among Montgomery County Public Schools, Montgomery College, Johns Hopkins University, the Montgomery County Business Roundtable for Education, The Montgomery Education Connection, and Potomac Ridge Behavioral Health-Adventist Health Care.
